Exam Time Tables 2005

So peeps, exam timetables are up at the Arts Centre. Looks like our Education Officer and Deputy President Kamiar Mohaddes plan worked! Apparently thousands of us sent complaint e-mails to the Administration Office and they were furious enough to post them without telling anyone…

Still, there was a crowd outside the Arts Centre when I went to see when my exam will be. Six exams: first one May 16th, last one June 4th. 4 weeks of revision for my hardest module. Why can't I motivate myself until the wall I'll run into head-first is clearly visible? Vacation was such a waste of time yet again…

It's not like it had not been crunch time since lectures finished last term, but it undeniably is now…nevertheless: don't panic!

  1. No, today was the target date for completion of the summer exam timetable and has been for several months, so your education officer's plan resulted in an irritating waste of time and resources.

  2. Well at least they're up. Sooner they're over, the better.

  3. Last time I checked on my.wbs the word was time tables would be up on Wednesday Week 1. Five days earlier, for whatever reason, than expected. So I'm happy anyway.

You are right though, if the plans were to publish today, sending out an e-mail asking students to pester the admin office just two days before is just irritating. On the other hand, these things are ususally only for the following year, so hopefully the university will make an effort for the future.

  4. The way I understand it, is that exam timetables come out "late" because a while back the students wanted more time to make up their minds which modules to take. Now we say we want timetables earlier rather than time to decide. So in a few years time I'm sure the university will be pestered to give us longer to choose our modules… at the expense of later exam timetables. We students really are a fickle bunch arent we? Like they say the grass is alwasy greener on the other side, ah…

  5. True. When I was at DCS we used to get ages to choose our modules, and we got another deadline not too long before easter, I'm not sure anymore, to change modules again. Now that I'm at WBS, however, all we get is the first 2 weeks. After that we're stuck with what we have, yet WBS has to accomodate the rest of the university.

so yes, we are a fickle bunch. can't decide on modules, can't even decide whether we want more time to decide or not, ah…
