I’ve just realised that the 3 bible passages quoted on my blog have the same message: FAITH
A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, ‘Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?’ He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, ‘Quiet! Be still!’ Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. He said to his disciples, ‘Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?’ They were terrified and asked each other, ‘Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!’ Mark 4:37-41 NIV
When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, because she thought, ‘If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.’ Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering. At once Jesus realized that power had gone out from him. He turned around in the crowd and asked, ‘Who touched my clothes?’ ‘You see the people crowding against you,’ his disciples answered, ‘and yet you can ask, ‘Who touched me?’ ’ But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it. Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet and, trembling with fear, told him the whole truth. He said to her, ‘Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.’ Mark 5:27-34 NIV
He went in and said to them, ‘Why all this commotion and wailing? The child is not dead but asleep.’ But they laughed at him. After he put them all out, he took the child’s father and mother and the disciples who were with him, and went in where the child was. He took her by the hand and said to her, ‘Talitha koum!’ (which means, ‘Little girl, I say to you, get up!’ ). Immediately the girl stood up and walked around (she was twelve years old). At this they were completely astonished. He gave strict orders not to let anyone know about this, and told them to give her something to eat. Mark 5:39-43 NIV
I believe that these 3 passages can be summarised in simple words:
Even if we are in the storms of our lifes, things might scare us and troubles seem to overwhelm, but we should not falter, should not be afraid. Touch God by worshiping Him and believe that nothing is impossible, God will see us through any situations in our life. We will see miracles. That’s the power of faith.
Jesus Himself seemed to not falter over people mocking and laughing at Him. He makes the impossible possible. We should be the same. Our strength should be from God, so no matter what life throws at us, faith in God will see us through. Peace and joy knowing that we are in the best care ever.
We normally fret over our troubles but sometimes we have to go through situations to be a stronger person in the end. God disciplines those He loves. From a mere coal, it can turn into a diamond. But just imagine the process it has to go through. We have to persevere.
No one can say: how can God know what I’m going through? But God has gone through the worst. God showed us how He walked this earth. Jesus took the sin of the world and sacrifice to save us all. That’s how it was done for the atonement of sin in them days. Sacrifice the unblemished lifestock for the atonement of sin. God sacrificed His only son… the one without sin. And those who believe will be saved by His grace. No law can save us… not even a good man.
All in all 11 countries. I’ve not really visited enough countries in my life time. I could have done better if I don’t keep on going back to France and Italy… I blame my family members who came at separate times and all of them seem to like Rome so much!!!!
My aim this year:
Hmm so how will I fit my PhD in all this???
I’ve been reading a few papers these past few weeks. I thank God for some useful findings and ideas I can use in my research. I pray that they will develop into great breakthroughs and new knowledge contributions. I will experiment on the second parameter of my current research. Hope to extract useful findings by end of March, so that I can include them in my progress report (which I’ve not started yet!!) What I can do now is do my best, pray, hope and have faith that God will see me through and bless me with great success!! In Jesus’ name, AMEN!!
20 more days to go to get your FIT at any record stores. Rest assure it is free from avian flue…
”...Jesus said to them, ‘Only in his hometown, among his relatives and in his own house is a prophet without honor.’ He could not do any miracles there, except lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them. And he was amazed at their lack of faith...” Mark 6:1-6 NIV
When we lose faith, situations will get from bad to worse… maybe stagnant. We might need to work a lot harder to make it better. Wouldn’t it be better to rely on God’s strength to see through situations in life. How at peace people can be. All we need to do is ask and believe. Everything will be done within the right timing and if the intention is right. Everything is permissible but not everything is beneficial.
