I bought myself this book for christmas and only half way through it. Have been meaning to read it for ages but generally only get round to reading books from my course. It's amazing. It tells the story of Brother Yun and the underground Chinese Church in the 1980's. I have to keep reminding myself that it's a true story and happened only 20 years ago. It's not the most pleasant of reads, as he describes vivadly the tortue he recieved in prison but it's definitely good to open your eyes and realise what the world has actually been like during your life time. Will review it in full when finished!!

Today's List

Today's list consisted of:

1) reading as much as possible
2) finally doing some proper work on my website (soon to be launched!)

Today I:

1) read some more of Madame Bovary (it's quite good really)
2) went shopping
3) went to KFC

not as much reading done as possible but I did aquire a wickedy new scarf and spent a most excellent afternoon with the lovely Debbie (or as she shall now be known…Deboring) (she's not really boring…it's a play on the name Deborah…)

anyway…maybe do some website stuff tonight

check out Ian Kreeger's blog

off to London tomorrow to the Tate Gallery, how cultured am I?!?

The list

So…I didn't consciously make a list this morning, but on reflection it consisted of:

1) read as much as possible
2) pick up last of Barbados photos
3) do washing

Things I did today:

1) finished Great expectations
2) started Madame Bovary
3) picked up last of Barbados photos
4) did washing
5) made chili

I feel the day has been a success. Lesson learnt: have short lists, then you always do more.

Loooong time no speak….

Well, obviously I have been speaking…long time no blog. Why is that? I look on here all the time and just say to myself "hmm, you haven't written anything for ages, you really should write something" and that's about where I leave it. I think it's because the longer I leave it the more I have to write about and the less I can be bothered to sit down and do it.

So, since my last blog, I finished term (relatively stress free), went to Barbados (most excellent, and have totally caught the travelling bug as a consequence) and came home. My time at home so far has consisted in being a bridesmaid (moooost excellent) and reading Great Expectations.

Tomorrow I'm going to write a list of things I'm going to do over Christmas. Maybe I'll blog it….
