final reflection

If I write about what I learned by this year, I will spend all the day writing, and I may still not finish. First thing I learned reflection skills, and I learned lots of things about blogging too. I also learned its benifits, I was avoid it all my life I don't know why I did not like to share my ideas. Maybe because of people's criticism. In the future I would like to find opportunities to adapt reflection at my workplace, even it may be a new thing for the business but it will improve organisational culture. I did Business & HR management in my degree, I had idea for businesses activities, but in my current MSc I learned more and deeper knowledge and I learned how to use what I learned to develop EFQM framework for organisations, as its more organised and easier to be managed. I did this idea in my KBAM and I like it, thanks to my presentation group, that we did it first in our KBAM presentation. I feel that I want to buy EFQM book to take it to Kuwait, I feel proud of it. I learned different things from all the modules, but the interesting thing I learned new learning processes different than my old uni. I became more confident than before, and its provide me self-esteem. Also, I have amazing friends from different countries in the world. It's a journey. I'm happy to get into Warwick this year as it is not a waste of time and money, it's worth more becuse it changed my future for better.

H&S Leadership

H&S is everybody's responsiblity, but they have diferent levels of responsibilities. As the workers need to be engaged by following the organisation policy and engage with the training programs. The biggest responsibility is held by the senior manager that needs to engage with the H & S processes (i.e. designing suitable policies, create new strategies, identify knowledge gaps, provide the right learning and training, manage crisis, etc)(Martin & Marion,2005). The main issue relates to the manager inefficiency in properly controlling all of the above. In this situation the organisation will be a victim of the manager's wrong decision making, and all the employees are part of it and could be affected as well.

It is important for everybody to ask themselves in a potential future job if the organisation is safe to work with, find out about their previous accident cases and what the organisation did to avoid future risks.

Work experience

Healty and safety made me think about all my past work experience. There were many examples of people getting injured in my work in the customs bourder. There were poor working conditions and mostly, the truck drivers were the people who got injured in work. In this example the truck drivers supposed to be the customers. But, in this case there is no other way to do their work in my bourder, being the only bourder between Iraq and Kuwait. I think it was easy to inform people about what happen in the past and to try to avoid it. This depended on the leaders responsibility. Here the leader engagement was poor and needed to improve in order to avoid accidents. Other problem was represented by the fact that the leader worked in the Goverment system, where there no stron overall H&S policy. All this culture difference is complicated and it seems to be different from the UK where H&S is important.

Camels envieorment

camel

Do we trust camels? Is it a safe working environment. How can H&S be developed in the desert? I think in this situation knowledge managment is required. Any person to come in contact with the camel should know as much as possible about the camel. This is stored as tacit knowledge in the mind of the owner, it is his expertise. So he must distribute and share this knowledge to anyone and everyone else.

KBMA knowledge management

Its intresting that knowledge managment work to gether with H&S strategy process. As improving H&S awearness could be done by knowledge managment tools. Jnowledge is everything in organisation's assets, its untengable things need to be used to produce all tangible goods.

knowledge managment is about not only sharing knowledge between employees, but the important thing is that knowledge will owned by the organaisatin. The organisation analysis this knowlege to solve its problems and to develop training program to be sure that target employees will understand it. This process will provide the sustainablilty for the organisation growth.

Many small businesses focus to get good profisional people and when the experts gone the also knowledge gone, and may affect business activities. Also, some employees dont like ti share them ideas to insure their careers, but for this reson the organisation need to creat trust culture and share goals with all people.

I believe that this is the right way for everyone need to work with this practices if he aim to get super growth organisation.

PMA KBAM

I was doing my PMA recently and I chose health and safety, because everyone care about their and other's health more than care about money or rewards. Everybody is looking for working in a safe environment that may make people happier and more productive and innovative. While I search about H&S in the UK I found the Institution of Occupation Safety and Health (IOSH) in the UK paper and it was helpful for general information about employees and employers responsibility.

Also, other researchers for H&S as they collect information from front employees by self-assessment surveys and thus helps them to identify the gaps and areas to improve. This PMA makes me more aware of many areas in H&S to consider in my future workplace and also to ask for improving H&S if there is any area that needs to be improved.

Modern socity such as in the UK tends to care more about H&S than other countries such as Kuwait as they provide strategies and strong laws for improving H&S. I'm thinking of the gap of understang H&S between different communities. Health is not something that can be ignored, it is everyone's responsibility to shape the knowledge for having a better life for humanity.

learning forever

Health and safety is important that everybody want to be safe, be safe better than the high reward for most people as work in organisations is not as Russian roulette. I like to choose this subject for my PMA to increase my knowledge in H&S.

For Zain question about high cost of production in UK, I think this year the cost is cheaper for export regarding to the low pound exchange rate! This is mean that the opportunity to build infrastructure or foundation of establish new market overseas is easier. Even in the future the rate will increase, the organization already has its relation with suppliers and customers, and the brand is well known.

KBAM presenation reflection

Presentation is always stressful, thinking about what you are about to say in a specific amount of time. I felt that I didn’t say everything that I have to say, but at the same time we didn’t finish all the slides in 20 minutes. I think we need to improve our time management and focus on the conclusion in future presentation. This presentation has feedback from the director, which represent practices in real life scenario. Moreover, it is helpful to hear Paul°s reflection about our presentation that increase our awareness about the topic or any future work. Also, the other presentations had good ideas we didn’t mention a lot in our work. For example, Mac°s presentation represented Knowledge management in depth.

I feel happy that I have good ideas about knowledge and assets management. It took me days of reading but I have got good results of knowledge. As Paul said it°s two master’s degrees in two weeks and we started from zero to hero, these things add value to the study environment in WMG, and make us feel proud of it. We also motivated by knowing from Paul that we are improved in our presentation skills, which make us more confident in future presentations in real work life.

KBAM last meeting with team work

I think the first concern for any business is to identify the insufficient knowledge for its people. This identification is important to help the organisation planner to start forecasting toward solving the problems.

The second question is about the next step in the business and addresses issues related to ‘how to improve the knowledge?’. These two questions can be used not only for business, but they can be used for everything in general ‘what knowledge I need and how do I get it?'.

When Paul said that next year there will be no marks for the students, he created trust culture bond between students. In my opinion, it will be less pressure and less load of work. This could be an effective approach of the course as there will be more open ideas, and more suitable environment for innovation and creative thinking in the class and outside of it. For example, in PMAs, students will not feel pressured to write something that they would not necessarily believe in, but that would be more suitable for a higher mark, so this will encourage people to write in a more creative way and to write about something they strongly support and believe in.

What reflection and how people do it without marks? I think that people love to do something and find the reward soon. If no marks, so intrinsic reward needs to be identified and be used. I suggest that Paul read the blogs and make it interesting by speak about the ideas that were done by the students. And looking to link good reflection ideas to improve the learning environment for the student. Same what he did with Orfi and Mac in Leadership Excellence model. This will make students think what good ideas to write in every blog.

In the first of last team meeting I didn’t know which slide I will present but at least I have understood Knowledge management because I read about it from model, case studies and I saw it in YouTube. I learned many things about Knowledge, assets and the integration process; for example, I wasn’t clearly distinguishing between data and information or knowledge and wisdom. There are basic things that I need to know before start knowledge management’s plan ‘I think.’ How organization can excess to employees mind and capture the tacit knowledge to write it down and make it explicit knowledge and for free to all other employees.

Is the employee who have the tacit knowledge would be happy? Is this can affect his carrier path or how he trust other people to give them the knowledge. How other employee will understand his knowledge? And other many questions the organisation needs to solve it because it is bad for knowledge to be gone with any employee gone from the organisation. Or how the organisation will develop tacit knowledge without identifying it?

Many interesting ideas I gain from this presentation that help me in my future workplace, it makes me think to go to work not for just money or prestige, but to grow my own knowledge as well by sharing ideas same of WMG culture. Orfi said he don’t come here to learn from student! But even the lecturers may don’t know all things that the students know! The aim is to create culture that everyone contribute and add value for the task by his knowledge and shown other team members why this would be valuable.

KBAM week two

It’s useful to use EFQM model into business strategy, where, the board interest to hear positive future results, while they want good feed back to the shareholders. In this situation it’s better to start from business result and how it will be in the future. Enables within EFQM could structure well by the team to present good business results.

Solving problems and create good solution could done by consulting team. Using Knowledge and assets management could be used for any business as integrating approach. Many tools could be used as knowledge thinking of cause and effects analysis. Also Knowledge audit and assets measuring are important as starting point for planning and to draw future business brand.

Whereas it’s a complex process that how organisations can do for different departments and makes them works and integrated together toward the sort and long time scale. I think it’s impossible to make all department progress in same speed. But it could be competitive advantage for the organisation to create support for departments and also, to make it difficult for other organisation to copy and to capture our organizational culture.

While I was think as I have English as a second language that awareness is such a word. But yesterday in the lecture I find it a word but it has connection with huge areas of thinking. For example, ‘why people have poor awareness?’ or ‘how to improve awareness?’ it looks like the answer and the answers could save the world. It may come from stress and workload or from lack of training and experience. Also it includes interpretation, anticipation or information error. It links with many leadership or employees problems and badly affect the workplace. Good organisation culture should have to get the minimum awareness problems by sharing knowledge and learning organisation practices.

I was thinking of the important of the communication in my dissertation, but I found that communication’s aim is to make people awareness. I can’t be aware of everything but in my future I will try to be more aware to reduce errors.
