Not Right happenings

Things have been busy in the world of Not Right lately!

The big news is that we're playing LaDIYfest Sheffield this weekend. There will be workshops in the Quaker Meeting house on Saturday 30th November from 11am, and live music plus DJs in the Redhouse from 8pm. We're playing alongside The Ethical Debating Society, Weird Menace and Witching Waves, and will have a full complement of CDs/zines/t-shirts with us (including hopefully the shiny new Not Right #6 zine).

ladiyfest

If you're not going to be anywhere near Sheffield this weekend, then you might be able to catch us (in spirit at least!) at London Queer Zine Fest on Sunday 1st December. Copies of our Punk Is Not EP and Not Right #5 will be available from the Robot Unicorn Records stall, along with a load of other awesome music from the likes of Etai Keshiki and Jesus & His Judgemental Father.

Finally, if you can't make it to either of those events, you can hear our music on a couple of very exciting new compilations that are now available.

Statement of trans–inclusive feminism and womanism

Several individuals have been working hard over the past couple of weeks to put together an international statement supporting trans inclusion in the struggle for women’s rights. The publication of this statement comes as the inclusion of trans people within feminist and womanist groups is once again under question, and as trans concerns gain an increasingly public profile.

I was honoured to be asked to sign this statement. I feel it provides a timely response to the aforementioned issues, as well as a recent radical feminist statement on trans exclusion, and the forthcoming publication of Sheila Jeffreys’ new book.
