Pest update from Wellesbourne
When the water traps in the swede plot were checked yesterday there were:
- 10 male and 54 female cabbage root flies
- 61 bean seed flies
- 28 flea beetles
- 453 pollen beetles
- 92 cabbage stem weevils
- 270 cabbage stem flea beetles
- 0 cabbage seed weevils
There were 360 carrot flies on the 3 sticky traps in the new plot for 2019.
122 cabbage root fly eggs were laid between 23 and 26 July (around 15 plants).
2 diamond-back moths, no turnip moths, no silver Y moths and no cabbage moths were captured in pheromone traps. There are 2 traps for each species.
We also caught 4 diamond-back moths on 5 carrot fly traps.
