Pest update from Wellesbourne

These are the numbers of insects captured between 18th and 22nd September.

Yellow water traps (3)

  • 49 male and 13 female cabbage root fly
  • 17 bean seed fly
  • 2 flea beetle
  • 4 pollen beetle
  • 3 cabbage stem weevil
  • 0 cabbage seed weevil
  • 2 cabbage stem flea beetle

Sticky traps for carrot fly (3)

  • 102 carrot fly

Pheromone traps - 2 per species

  • Diamond-back moth 0
  • Silver Y moth 0
  • Turnip moth (cutworm) 1

6 cabbage root fly eggs on 15 cauliflower plants
