Pest update from Wellesbourne

These are the numbers of insects captured between 14th and 18th August.

Yellow water traps (3)

  • 14 male and 15 female cabbage root fly
  • 18 bean seed fly
  • 205 flea beetle
  • 67 pollen beetles
  • 3 cabbage stem weevil
  • 1 cabbage seed weevil
  • 0 cabbage stem flea beetle
  • 3 small white butterfly

Sticky traps for carrot fly

  • 0 carrot fly

Pheromone traps - 2 per species

  • Diamond-back moth 0
  • Silver Y moth 0 (6 in the water traps)
  • Turnip moth (cutworm) 5

10 cabbage root fly eggs on 15 cauliflower plants
