Pest update from Wellesbourne
When the water traps in the swede plot were checked today there were:
- 139 male and 50 female cabbage root flies
- 50 bean seed flies
- 9 flea beetles
- 713 pollen beetles
- 51 cabbage stem weevils
- 2 cabbage stem flea beetles
- 1 cabbage seed weevil
There were 59 carrot flies on the 3 sticky traps in the new plot for 2019.
594 cabbage root fly eggs were laid between 9 and 12 July (around 15 plants).
1 diamond-back moth and 1 turnip moth were captured. No moths were captured in our other pheromone traps (silver Y moth, cabbage moth). There are 2 traps for each species.
We also caught 11 diamond-back moths on 5 carrot fly traps.
