AHDB Aphid News

The latest edition of AHDB Aphid News has been published - for the week ending 21st October.

  • Peach–potato aphids were captured at 11 suction trap sites, increasing at seven, with hotspots at Kirton (188) and Wellesbourne (177).
  • Cabbage aphids were captured and increasing at Kirton and Broom’s Barn.
  • Willow-carrot aphids (Cavariella aegopodii) were captured at Gogarbank (2), Preston (60), Kirton (16), Broom’s Barn (18) and Starcross (27) with hotspots at Dundee (303) and York (296). Male individuals were recorded from Dundee (21), Gogarbank (1), York (8), Preston (4) and Kirton (8).

There are lots and lots of bird-cherry oat aphids around!
