Pest update from Wellesbourne

When the water traps in the swede plot were checked today there were:

• 8 male and 61 female cabbage root flies
• 72 bean seed flies
• 29 flea beetles
• 320 pollen beetles
• 29 cabbage stem weevils
• 216 cabbage stem flea beetles
• 0 cabbage seed weevils

There were 413 carrot flies on the 3 sticky traps in the new plot for 2019.

35 cabbage root fly eggs were laid between 26 and 30 July (around 15 plants).

No diamond-back moths, 1 turnip moth, 1 silver Y moth and no cabbage moths were captured in pheromone traps. There are 2 traps for each species.

We also caught 3 diamond-back moths on 5 carrot fly traps.
