Pest update from Wellesbourne

We are now emptying the traps weekly rather than twice-weekly.

Between 6th and 14th November our 3 yellow water traps captured:

  • Cabbage root flies - 0 male and 0 female
  • Bean seed flies - 23
  • Pollen beetles - 0
  • Flea beetles - 8
  • Cabbage stem weevil - 0
  • Cabbage seed weevil - 0
  • Cabbage stem flea beetle - 3

We caught 1 carrot fly on 3 sticky traps in our second sowing of carrots.

There were no diamond-back moths, no silver Y moths, no cabbage moths and 8 turnip moths in our pheromone traps (2 traps per pest).

We are no longer taking samples for cabbage root fly eggs.
