the one where I am a diabolical blog whore; also if you are diet–obsessed you should read this

I don't normally double post, but this is too important to withhold from any reading populace I might have.May 24, 2005
the one where the true nature of evil is revealed
This is how exams have TAKEN OVER MY LIFE: last night, I had a nightmare about not being able to find a seat in the library.

the one with the winning history exam essay formula
Did China gain anything from the world trade in luxury goods?
Yes, but also no.
Does an analysis based on centres and peripheries help us to explain the sources of divergence in paths of economic growth between East and West?
Yes, but also no.
Was China the prime mover behind trade in the early modern period?
Yes, but also no.
I am, like, so going to get a first.

the one I'm meant to do
Writing about Stealing another good idea from The random scribblings of a diseased imagination
I wouldn't do this on my main website (yes, I am unfaithful), but seeing as the baton has been passed, I shall accept dutifully.
Total volume of music files on my computer
1400 songs (exactly), 6.12GB. That's four days' worth of continuous music.
The last CD I bought was
I don't buy CDs. I am singlehandedly trying to disprove them.
Song playing right now
Fever Dream – Iron and Wine.
Five songs I listen to a lot, or that mean a lot to me
Girls of Wild Strawberries – Guided by Voices. Music for spinning crazily around in the arms of a significant other, kissing madly.
Thinking About You – Radiohead.
Time of Your Life – Greenday.
Wish you were Here – Pink Floyd
Dreaming of You – The Coral. A recent addition, but it makes the pavement disappear beneath my feet.
The five people I'm passing the baton onto
Five people who have done it.
And while I'm here, I might as well:
Last film I saw at the cinema
Hitchhiker's Guide. A snore fest interspersed with occasional commendable moments. The dolphin song was indeed hideous.
Last film I watched on DVD/Computer/TV etc.
Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Homophobes and those uncomfortable with unconventional sexuality should steer clear of this one, but highly recommended otherwise.
Films I am most looking forward to seeing
Johnny Depp, Tim Burton and Roald Dahl, rolled into one. Enough said, really.
Total Number of films I own
I come from Malaysia. We practically run the world's DVD piracy industry.
Five films that mean something to me
Amelie – There is a great deal of me in her, or vice versa.
Big Fish – Visual, fairytale magic. And of course, who I watched it with.
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind – Epitomizes everything I've thought of love, and hoped of it.
Adaptation – Inspired my inner writer, who hovers uncertainly just under the surface.
In A Lonely Place – Jolted me into a far deeper understanding of my significant other than I would ever have achieved on my own, at a critical juncture in our relationship. That's all you'll get from me.

the one for future prospects (and prospectuses)
Writing about web page http://www.warwickboar.co.uk/boar/news/university_divided_over__million_gamble/
Warwick wants to set up a campus in Singapore.
I think it will be interesting to see how well Warwick's Student Union's policy on deregulating cannabis will go down with our local friendly authoritarian government in Singapore. In any case, I've already put in a proposal for the Singapore campus newspaper to be called Warwick SingaBoar, haha.

the one in which I vigorously deny that I am a blog whore
I've started up my other website again, so if I haven't written anything here for a while, check there. And vice versa.

the one that makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside
I love when Stagecoach bus drivers flash their headlights at each other when they drive past.
