Well, it was certainly pretty wet…

The UK's had massive flooding that some have called a humanitarian disaster (which I think is a bit excessive; surely that lumps it together with Darfur...) and, according to the Met Office, this only might be the wettest summer since 1914.

If this could turn out to only be the second wettest summer, I'd hate to have experienced the summer of '59...

Totally trippin'

We had a lightning storm last night. I tried to take some photos but I only managed lit-up sky; I kept missing the bolts. I was using my camera’s continuous-shooting mode where it remembers the final few photos and hoping that it struck during the 40-frame limit; this only worked once: the first time after I realised my camera could do this, it struck just after the camera stopped, and the only other time there was a bolt during the sequence it took a photo either side of it…

Still, one of the night-time shots is impressive because it actually looks like daytime.

Also the power went off, but we realised it was only the trip switch so it wasn’t off for that long; Uninterpretable Power Supplies for computers are great…
