I was just watching something that mentioned the recent Northern Rock "panic", and it reminded me: I wish I'd heard about it sooner, because I would have loved to go to my nearest branch, join the lengthy queue, get to the front, and say to the cashier, "Hello. I'd like to open an account, please."
