Even Bester Keyboard… wait, is that even a word?
Follow-up to Best… Keyboard… Ever from The randomness of tomorrow, today!

I tell a lie: this is the best keyboard ever.
It's still a concept at the moment, but I really hope they manage to get it into production.

As much as I love Top Gear…
Follow-up to I don't know why it even needs a driver… from The randomness of tomorrow, today!
In the latest Top Gear, Richard Hammond demonstrated a new Lexus' ability to park itself. All present appeared to be wowed and amazed.
Yes it's impressive, but I do feel it necessary to point out that the Toyota Prius, the first production car to feature this ability, has been able to do it since about 2004. I even test drove a Prius myself late last year, 90% to try out the Intelligent Parking Assist and 10% to see it the car itself was any good...
Now I know I'm talking about a lowly hybrid car and Top Gear had a flash Lexus, but the point still stands...

I'm going to need another keyboard…
Nintendo have just updated the Wii’s firmware to allow support for USB keyboards. Finally I can type quickly on my Wii!
I decided the best way to celebrate this was to type some continuous prose. Hence this blog entry, coming to you live from my Wii.
So, as the saying goes, “The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog”. We would all do well to remember the lessons that teaches us…

Best… Keyboard… Ever

The Optimus Maximus keyboard has to be the greatest keyboard ever invented. Individual OLED screens for each key allow you have literally anything displayed on them; they can even do animations.
One of the little touches I like, which follows from the logic that the keys display the function they perform, is that the default lower-case changes to upper-case when you press Shift.
I've been keeping track of it for years now, and I've just noticed that it's finally available to pre-order (probably available for a while; I haven't checked much this year...).
I really really want one of these. All I need now is 43990 rubles (a little over £870) and some patience...

Wait, it gets better!
Follow-up to Transform, and roll out! from The randomness of tomorrow, today!
You can also set an animation to play when you close it, so I've made it even better:

Transform, and roll out!
I've had a Nokia N76 for a couple of months now. It has the option to play a tone when you open and close the cover, which I turned off.
However, this afternoon, it suddenly occurred to me what would be the perfect sound effects...

I don't know why it even needs a driver…
The Toyota Prius can park itself!
I've just found this demonstration on YouTube. The dialogue is in Japanese, but basically you:
- Put the car in reverse
- Turn the IPA on
- Choose between parallel and parking space
- Use the arrows to position the box (which is where the car will end up)
- Press go
- Keep an eye out for pedestrians etc. getting in the way
- Take your hands off the steering wheel but keep the speed under control with the break
