Do you want fries with that?

Bar Food's staff annoy me. I go up to them and say "double cheeseburger, please" and they respond with "is that the meal?"
That usually takes me by suprise, because what part of "double cheeseburger, please" sounds like "double cheeseburger meal, please"? If it's not that they're just plain stupid and complete idiots, then that suggests that they think I'm not clever enough to ask for a meal if I want one, so they have to check. Maybe everyone but me says "burger" when they mean "burger meal", but that implies everyone but me is stupid, and that's just not the case. The only logical explanation is that Bar Food staff are either inherantly stupid, or are trained to be stupid…
It's all just a waste of everybody's time.
Anyway, the rest of you can carry on with you lives now, but if there's anyone from bar food listening, then: IF I ASK FOR A BURGER THEN I WANT A BURGER. IF I ASK FOR A MEAL THEN I WANT A MEAL. IF I ASK FOR A BURGER I DO NOT WANT A MEAL, SO STOP BLOODY ASKING ME

Gunpowder, treason, and shut–the–hell–up
Some people go to fireworks, some people organise fireworks, and other people have fireworks thrust upon them…
Yes it's that time of year again; the time of whizzes, bangs, crackles, and pops. Not, as you might expect, a bowl of Rice Crispies® (there's no 'snap'; that's a big give away), but Bonfire Night. When you can't concentrate on anything because of the damned racket.
Still, since it is actually that time of year, I'll let them have tonight. If they're still doing it tomorrow, then I'll start complaining…
