There's this Nigerian prince I know that needs to get some money out of the country…

If us individuals are always told not to give our bank account number and sort code to nefarious folk, lest they empty out bank accounts, why then can companies print their details on statements and invoices for us to pay them by BACS without these malicious people emptying their bank accounts too?

What's the difference between a personal and business account that means anyone with the personal account number and sort code can clear it out, but can only add money to the business account?

I’ve been thinking about crime a lot recently too. On Saturday morning a policeman knocked on my door and said ” Did you hear anything last night”? and I said “No” He said “There was an altercation ouside your house at about 11.30 pm” I told him I hadn’t heard a thing and nor had anybody else in the house.” He said “It’s nothing to worry about.” But actually I wasn’t worried, I thought it was quite reassuring having a policeman knocking on my door. The other thing was the parking ticket incident which was when we got back to the car (this happened the week before) to find we had a parking ticket on the windscreen. When we got home, we looked at it and found it wasn’t for our car. My partner said the best thing to do was to send it to the council because if you don’t pay within 14 days the fine is doubled. So I sent it back with a note on saying it wasn’t my vehicle. It’s now been pointed out to me that someone else might have a ticket for our car, so I’m just hoping they send it back if they have got it.
