Free Parking
Follow-up to House Rules for Monopoly from The randomness of tomorrow, today!

I love that everyone has their own monopoly rules, its great! Gives the game a bit of variety and argumentation :)
reminded me of something; you'd always think that your house rules are unique, since you made them up, but there's one rule in particular that everyone seems to know, even if they don't like it. I don't believe it's ever been in the official rules, either as a rule or a suggestion for a house rule (I may be wrong) but it's so well know it actually made it into the proper rules for the Make-Your-Own-Opoly game.
So, how many people put fines in the middle of the board and win them by landing on Free Parking?

My ex–girlfriend's family always used to do that (with the fines), but I just found it stupid and wrong.
Of course, there's always the Rule of Dad where any dad can steal from the bank at will

Like I said: they may not like it, but everyone knows it…

The Free Parking rule is part of the official rules for Junior Monoploy.

I've always played the free parking rule. Taxes go to the bank, fines go to free parking. It's not in the rules for star wars monopoly.

Also, does anyone actually pay interest when paying off their monopoly mortgage? I've just noticed that in the rules.

I have Monopoly on my mobile phone and it always charges interest to pay off mortgages. But it also will give you anything and everything to get the one property it wants, which makes it rather easy to beat.
