BT needs your money!
Through copious use of 1899.com, I have managed to get into the interesting situation where BT owes me a lot of money, about £150. This came about through paying my bill by Direct Debit each month to the tune of £35, but actually being billed only about £15 a month. So I tried reducing my Direct Debit through the automated BT calling system (could I talk to a human? No!) but was told that if I paid BT less than £35 a month, I wouldn’t be ‘paying them enough’... I’ve now cancelled the Direct Debit and am not paying anything while the monthly line rental uses up the slack.
However, BT has announced that from this coming May they will charge customers £4.50 for not using their Direct Debit facility. How on earth does one set up a monthly automated payment low enough to meet with BT’s approval while not handing them a load of money they are not due?
And has anyone ever got hold of a human at BT so as to get a refund of their own money?
I know BT are in it for the money, but this is taking the mickey!

You only need two tools in life….
You need only two tools, a hammer and duct tape.
If it doesn’t move and it should, use the hammer.
If it moves and shouldn’t, use the tape.
