Your Happiness Makes Your Partner Happy – But Only If You Are Married

New research by University of Warwick researcher Nick Powdthavee reveals that a married man or woman is significantly more satisfied with their life when their partner is satisfied with life. But he has also found almost no evidence of the same affect among couples that prefer cohabitation to marriage.

Global Warming Bonds

Professor Andrew Oswald is calling for the introduction of "Global Warming Bonds".

He suggests that governments should issue “Global Warming Bonds”, to compensate individuals, companies and countries who cut fossil fuel emissions. The idea is that the bonds would start to pay out around the year 2045 and would be paid for by our grandchildren through taxation.

Researchers at the University of Warwick's Department of Physics have gained insight into the mysterious giant dark "tadpoles" that appear to swim towards the surface of the Sun during solar flares – enormous energy releases happening in the atmosphere of the Sun.

Excellence in Research Reaps Funding Success for Warwick

The Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) announced today (10 March 2005) that the University of Warwick is to receive an 8.5% increase in funding – one of the highest increases for a Midland's University in HEFCE grant funding this year.
