Euro 2008 Day 8

Week 1 is all over. We've seen some quite unexpected stuff:

  • Italia lost  to Holland
  • France lost to Holland
  • Greece lost to Sweden
  • Croatia beating Germany

None of them has been expected.

Today, we have Sweden vs Spain and Greece vs Russia.

Sweden vs Spain

What they have in common is that they were the winners of their first Euro 2008 matches and as we can see, Spain has beaten Sweden 2-1.

Greece vs Russia

What they have in common is that they were the losers of their first Euro 2008 matches. We shall wait and see what happens and I hope one of the teams wins.

I hope Holland wins the Euro 2008

Euro 2008 Day 7

Well, yesterday, we saw Austria drawing against Poland 1-1 with the little help of English referee Howard Webb. As you can see, the Swiss has already been knocked out. Will this also happen to Austria? We shall wait and see.

Today, we have Italia vs Romania and La France vs Holland.

Italia vs Romania

Gigi Buffon saves the Italia's day by saving Adrian Mutu's spot kick. Otherwise, poor old Italia would have been kicked out out of the tournament.

Holland vs France

When this game is being talked about, one thing comes into mind. The Champion League final penalty shoot out. The moment when the Holland skipper (who is the Man Utd goalkeeper if you don't know) saved France's Nicolas Anelka's penalty. This has been playing in my mind for weeks. The Holland skipper is one of the reasons why I have become interested in all this Dutch football stuff. So, good luck to the Dutch and don't go TOO ballistic if you support the French and France loses.

Euro 2008 Day 6

Well, today we have Germany vs Croatia and Austria vs Poland.

Germany vs Croatia

Today, we have just seen how GENIUS Slaven Billic is. His Croatia has beaten Germany 2-1. Surely Germany is one of the best in the world, but it has been beaten. Today, we have also seen a typical Jens Lehmann: aggressive, scary, and getting a yellow card. Typical of him. Well, I will certainly miss his grumpy look next season. Well, what I can say about Slaven Billic? He is an all round genius.

Austria vs Poland

Well, as far as I know, Poland has scored a goal against Austria where 'the hills are alive with the sound of music'.

That's it, I shall continue my story tomorrow.

Euro 2008 Day 5

I feel very sorry for the Greeks who lost to Sweden yesterday.

Today, we have Portugal vs Czech Republic and La Suisse vs Turkey.

Once again, Portugal has won the game.

For La Suisse vs Turkey, this is the first time for them to play each other since the 2006 World Cup play-off where the players got very fisty. I dearly hope that the match will pass over peacely. Please keep an eye on the match. Fingers crossed.

Euro 2008 Day 4

Hup, hup, did you see Holland winning? Yippee, yippee, yippee!

Today, we have España vs Russia and Sweden vs Greece.

A España team that contains David Villa has just beaten a Russia team whose coach is Mr Guus 'Mr Fixed It' Hiddink.

Now, we have Sweden where Sven Goran Eriksson comes from against the defending champion Greece. I can't wait to see the result.

Who the hell is he?

Let me give you some clues:

Pay attention to the flag. It tells you his nationality and where he manages.

He used to play for AC Milan.

He scored that volley goal against the former USSR in the final of Euro 1988.

He is going to take over the job of Ajax manager after Euro 2008.

Is that enough?

Give it a go.

Once you've given it a go, check the answer out on

Funny, eh?

Euro 2008 Day 3

Yippee! Today, we have Group C, with my favourite team, Holland, in it.

First, we have Romania vs La France. A France without Zinedine Zidane can only draw against a Romania with Adrian Mutu.

Then, we have Holland vs Italia. I have been watching Holland since Euro 2004 and my mate from high school is half Italian and she loves AC Milan!

It seems Holland is doing well as it has a 2-0 lead over Italia, but I am not sure it can keep  this way.

Hup! Keep it up Holland!

Euro 2008 Day 1

What a good day!

My last exam has just finished today and Euro 2008 has just started.

Today, we have La Suisse vs Czech Republic and Portugal vs Turkey.

The score from the 'La Suisse vs Czech Republic' match is 1-0 to the Czech Republic. I am watching the Portugal match right now. I hope Portugal will win tonight.
