RaW Sport's 'Punt the Pundit' – Week 5 nominations

Follow-up to RaW Sport’s Punt the Pundit from RaW Sport Blog

Five weeks into RaW Sport’s ‘Punt the Pundit’ and things are getting pretty serious. Mark Lawrenson survived being nominated last week, but is back for a second time and finds himself joined by Sky legend Andy Gray. Without wanting to bias the voting in anyway I will be appalled if Gray loses out to Lawro. Whilst I kind of like Lawro, Andy Gray is a ‘proper’ pundit in that he actually goes beyond stating the obvious. Do what is right and get voting now. Results, as always, will be announced on Wednesday’s show.

Quote of the Day

Writing about web page

I don’t know if anyone has been watching the re-run of ‘Big Ron Manager’ on Sky Three, but it’s classic car crash television. I missed it the first time on Sky One, but I’ve seen all but the first episode in the second run and am totally hooked. Basically the concept is that ‘football troubleshooter’ Big Ron Atkinson has been sent to League Two side Peterborough United to help rooky boss Steve Bleasdale gain promotion. However in actual fact all he and his cameras succeed in doing is unsettling the side and sending them on a massive losing streak. Every episode is filled with utterly ridiculous quotes, however after tonight show my new favourite is:

Chairman Barry Fry to the Peterborough players: [After telling manager Steve Bleasdale before a game he that he would not be picking the team and then watching him resign in the dressing room] ‘don’t f##king sulk, half of you didn’t f##king like him anyway’
