Oh snap, show planning this week is dead easy, I think we could probably play every song off the playlist… Loving the much bigger selection this year :)

I figured more was definitely the way to go. Gives DJ’s a bigger selection and therefore means that they are more likely to actually play stuff from the playlist. If there are any other ways that RaW members think that we could improve the playlist then please let me know.

How many songs are in a show? (I’m asking because it doesn’t look like a very big selection to me.)
But then I know nothing about radio. I’d kind of assumed that you have a v high tec and massive jukebox from which you could play anything you wanted. Wrong.

Each show is an hour, so with chat/features you might be looking at maybe 12 songs in an hour. Certainly you couldn’t play the entire A list in a single show. The only requirement for a show is that RaW DJs play at least 2 tracks from the A-List and 1 from the B-List. Other than that Djs can play any music they bring in, any of the cd from the library (around 10,000 cds and 16,000 vinyl) or any of the music on the digital playout system (at present about 1/3 of the cd library plus several thousand tracks ripped from private music collections). So although it isn’t a huge list it’s more than enough for DJs to be able to play something they like without the same songs being repeated to often throughout the day.
