  2. Newsflash on Rubbish Tories!

Michael Howard has sent out a letter addressed to individuals on the costs to Warwickshire council tax payers of immigration control…

" You may be shocked to learn that his (Tony Blair's) chaotic asylum system has cost Warwickshire County Council £6,272,053 since 1997- money that could have been spent on essential local services. No wonder a typical hardworking family in a band D property in Warwickshire pays £534.82 more on their council tax than they did in 1997 etc etc"

The County Treasurer and people in Social Services finance confirm that costs arising from Asylum seekers are met by Government grant (ie no contribution from Council Tax at all). There is a £30,000 contingency in the annual budget to cover Social services who have a duty of care to children and young people who are asylum seekers BUT THESE COSTS ARE COVERED BY THE GRANT. (ie the contingency fund is not EVER USED).

What a bloody liar that Howard is.. should we hang and flog him? Survival of the fittest you know!
