I’ve been doing a lot of reading recently for my course, and I just started reading a booked called ‘Reframing Organizational Culture’, (Frost et al...). It’s funny, as most of the other journals or books that I have already read are so hard to get your head around, however the first page of this book makes so much sense.

If there’s one good thing that you have to read today, let it be this. The introduction to the book reads:

“The thought manifests as the word

The word manifests as the deed

The deed develops into habit

And the habit hardens into character.

So watch the thought

And its ways with care

And let it spring from love

Born out of respect for all beings.”

Simples! :)

In life there are going to be a lot of things that you reflect on and look back and say ‘what if I had done this... what if it went this way’. But those thoughts just hinder your progress to grow as a person. You have to take the ‘Words’ or ‘Deeds’ that you weren’t happy with and learn from your mistakes, and make sure that they don’t become your ‘Habit’, but rather your ‘Experience’.

Ok now I better go and read the next 400 odd pages of this book! :)

"There is a tide in the affairs of men. Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune; Omitted, all the voyage of their life Is bound in shallows and in miseries. On such a full sea are we now afloat, And we must take the current when it serves, Or lose our ventures."

Just a month to go till the end of my MSc, the work load is building up. Have to keep working hard, going to absolutely smash my Masters degree.
