Why being a second year is crap

My results don't come out till a week on Friday, and even then I have to wait for my tutor to come back from some trip to send them to me…

You're all so lucky!

(except the other 2nd years, obv…)

Organisation is for losers and charlatans

Even if I find out that I've got a super first for my second year at the end of next week, there is no way I will be able to call myself an intelligent person.

Today I realised a number of things…

1. My suit, which I need for the gala concert is at home.
2. My tent, which I need for tour, is at home.
3. My parents have just gone on holiday, so ironically they're one thing that isn't at home.
4. I have absolutely no free time for the rest of this week.

Therefore, I have just been on the train for 2 hours, spent just over £20 on the train and taxi, and I'm not exactly sure how I'm going to get to the station in the morning so that I can get back in time for the WSAF concert.

In future I may try to think about things more than 24 hours in advance, although that's unlikely to actually happen. It's not like this is the first time I've done something like this…

Anyway, if anyone sees my looking like I'm about to collapse tomorrow, you can probably guess why…

Finishedness

I have no more exams! Now, should I burn all the notes or put them in folders? Fire or filing? Will I regret it if I destroy everything??

Cinematic Masochism

Oh the dilemmas… Ok, as anyone that's seen it will know, Scaregrow Gone Wild is the worst film ever. Worse than Terror Toons, worse than Boy Eats Girl, and much much worse than Dead Meat and Braineater.

However, today I found out that it was the third part of a trilogy of 'Scarecrow' movies! There's Scarecrow (the first one) and Scarecrow Slayer (the second one) and they both seem to have basically the same story line, albeit without the acting talents of Ken Shamrock.

So now I'm vaguely tempted to rent the first two, just to complete the experience. I almost feel like I'm cheating to just watch the last film, and not put myself through the agonizing torture of the full trilogy. Sort of like a guy who watches a bunch of people walking over hot coals and then sticks a foot in at the end just to say he was part of it.

How can I live with myself? How can I move on to Zombie Honeymoon, The Dead Next Door, or Dead and Breakfast if I'm just going to wuss out when the going gets tough?? I'd be rejected by indie–horror b movie connoseuirs the world over because of my weakness and lack of commitment to the cause…

Oh the dilemmas…

Inspiration

"I've got to get a girlfriend, just for the summer, until this wears off. She'll be a summery girl. She'll have hair. She'll have summery friends who know how to be outside. She'll play tennis and wear dresses and have bare feet, and in the autumn, I'll ditch her, because she's my summer girl!"

I may be slowly turning into Bernard Black…

Revision skills

Follow-up to At a loss… from Blogeriffic

Well look what happened… Although, for anyone looking for a successful revision technique, learning entire modules the day before exams has proved remarkably successful. My old theory of needing the "fear" to do anything remotely productive has once again been proved right by the fact that I haven't yet had a complete nightmare!

Woop!

Where the hell are the horns??

Title:
Rating:
1 out of 5 stars

Well this is probably the most disappointing thing I've bought this year… According to the sleave notes, the 4 piece horn section are still part of the band, but you'd do well to find more than a couple of pointless cameos dotted around the record! Less Than Jake used to make me happy! They played good music, and the horn section was a big part of that! Why have they decided to degrade themselves to become just another lite–punk act?

I couldn't even recommend this to a Less Than Jake fan, simply because it doesn't sound like them… Instead it sounds like any number of other bands with less talent available to them, and that makes me angry!

Jealousy, thine name is blog!

Right, everyone seems to be able to get on the front page these days with some rant or other, and it's not fair! I've NEVER been on the front page! Just because all my entries are about as interesting as those chess games people play over the phone for 3 years, you'd think by some freak chance I'd occassionally illicit a flurry of comments that would give me a few minutes in the warm light of international publicity.

So spam! Write about your day, or gloat about how I still have exams and you don't, or tell me about the millions of pounds you need to "transfer" out of Nigeria…

(waits quietly with hand poised over print screen button)

Wooohoooo!

I'm so happy… I've managed to avoid big brother for 2 weeks now I think… I actually don't recognise the names people spout as being real people, and if I ever meet one of these "celebrities" in the street I will actually not have a clue who they are! It's been hard work, and there's been a lot of close shaves as this mind numbing rubbish appears to pervade every aspect of daily life, from newspapers to tv shows on all channels, to half the pages on the internet, but I've managed it through shear bloody mindedness and I'm proud!
