Coming up…
It’s a very busy week of theatre coming up, and I’ll apologise in advance for the sudden flurry of reviews that will be appearing all together. I’m off to London for three days on Thursday, during which I will be seeing the Donmar’s Othello, the National’s Much Ado about Nothing and the RSC’s King Lear (again), as well as the RSC’s new play, God In Ruins. Sadly I won’t have internet access to get all the reviews up in between, but I’ll try to have them all posted by the end of the weekend.
Thinking ahead to next year, there have been some new announcements of interesting-looking productions. The Globe’s summer season will see A Midsummer Night’s Dream (yawn), King Lear (hmmm), The Merry Wives of Windsor (could be fun) and Timon of Athens (VERY interesting). Meanwhile, another Lear will be happening in Liverpool next October, in which Rupert Goold will be directing Pete Postlethwaite in the title role. Very interesting….
