Warwick One World Week (OWW) is the World's Largest Student Run International Event.
Mission Statement:
‘One World Week aims to stimulate personal development through a week of Festival, Forum, Arts and Sports; to inspire and to provoke a view based on acceptance and appreciation of the world’s mosaic of cultures.’
One World Week was established in 1995 as an event celebrating the cultural diversity within the University of Warwick. It represents 132 nationalities, with the energy and enthusiasm of over 200 student volunteers and more than 20 000 participants from across the country. One World Week continues to build upon the achievements and experiences of previous years. From 1995 to 2001, One World Week grew from a one-day event to a week-long celebration. One World Week 2007 promises to develop through its four elements; One World Festival, One World Forum, One World Sports and One World Arts.
The success of One World Week has led to its use as a model for cooperation between the students, the Students’ Union and University in institutions across the U.K. As well as being nationally recognised, One World Week draws performers and participants from across the world and is proud to be an actor for the UNESCO decade for a Culture of Peace.
