3 Peaks
The time is finally on the countdown till the big day when we will embark on the challenge.
Yesterday we went to the Go Outdoors to buy the final things of the kit & equipment. I have never yet spent so much money in one day at one time! BUT it's all worth it and i am so looking forward to the actual day! Training every day at the gym and not only – all the effort that went in…..
The practice walk this saturday is another highlight of the week.
Well, here we go: i am ready, are you?

Yorkshire 3 peaks, or UK? (The Yorkshire ones are harder, IMO)
Make sure you take some of these . Trust me, it's the single most useful bit of kit you can pack. Cost about £5 from Boots; get the medium ones.
If you're doing the UK 3 peaks, make sure you take plenty of pillows so you can get some sleep during the driving sections.

thanks Chris! I am doing the UK peaks: Ben Nevis, Scafell and Snowdon! I have actually already bought plenty of plasters as i know i am prone to blisters, but thanks for the advice!!!!
So you've done this yourself before????? I can't wait!!!!!

I have, yes (quite a long time ago, although I've done each of the constituent hills several times since).
I would think that if you got up and down snowdon in 3 hours you'll not have too much trouble with the 3 peaks, so long as you get decent weather and you've got someone else to do the driving for you. If, like most people, you end up doing scafell overnight it can be a bit of a slog, but so long as you get a bit of sleep you'll enjoy it all. It'll be knackering, though!
Oh, one final tip; if you find that you enjoy doing the walking (rather than just enjoying the challenge), do try and get out and sample some of the UK's better hills. Tryfan and the Glyders (the next range north from snowdon), for example, are sooo much nicer than snowdon. (IMO!)
