Organisational Learning
After learning the 5 disciplines of organisational learning which were: -
1) Personal Mastery - Aspirations of one
2) Mental Models - Reflections thinking
3) Shared Vision - Focus on mutual purpose
4) Team Learning - Group interactions
5) System thinking - Learn from the change
So the questions I have for all is: Is it the individual that learns in the organisation or is it the organisation that learns? and What impact will organisation learning have in the business to adopt this concept?
Pauline Mmbaga
I think it goes both ways.Given that we take ‘the organization’ here to mean the culture and ways of running things in an institution because as Paul said the organization is not a living thing and cannot therefore be held accountable. People are supposed to learn from eachother through team work, through motivation and the safe enviroment offered to empower their thoughts and actions. But ‘the organization’ meaning the ways things are run should not stay the same but rather eveolve in respect to whether or not the current practices work for the employees or not.As Paul said, if you keep doing the same things you have already done then you will always get the same results you already did.I hope that helps.
