And so it began.

This afternoon at 2pm in Westwood, my final exams get underway. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried.

#1: Issues in Families and Development

I've concentrated on Psychological Problems and the effects on Parenthood, Marital Conflict, Single Mothers and Lesbian Mothers for the first section and then Developing disorders, comorbidity and Dyslexia for the second section.

We'll see how it goes. Guesstimation from past papers and lack of knowledge this morning is anywhere from 55-65%

Good luck everyone.

I have a couple of weeks

Writing about web page

Well it seems Rice has specified a waiting time of 2 weeks before any resolution to the Iranian problem is broached. This gives me a few days after my exams finish to predict that it will all end in one big war. Or does that count?

What I think will happen

Follow-up to How I keep wanting to blog from my housemate is a soviet spy

Will said that the last post was not interesting in any way and that it was too vague for his liking; too much like a horoscope.

Basically, that was kind of the point of some of it. Due to my head being stuck in psychology journals and books about 10/12 hours a day at the moment, I don't actually have any idea of what state world politics are in. I don't know much of who has done what, and what they'd said. I don't know how the economies are faring in each of the major countries, and I don't know what interests the major nations have in each other and their respective resources.

Whilst I do have a few vague notions, they're not enough to make a valid prediction. Too many times have researchers/writers witnessed an event, looked back and said, look there are the indicators, why did we not see it coming? So this is less of "I think something is going to happen" blog entry, but more of a "I think something is going to happen, but Im not going to make a prediction until I've researched it more and thought about it when I've got some free time, so I'm just saying that I'll be doing this and would love input from other people about the state of affairs throughout the world."

So this is for you Will: horoscope like, vague and fairly pointless.

How I keep wanting to blog

I keep wanting to blog, mainly about one thing. This I believe can be summed up in a paragraph. If you are already bored: please leave, it won't get any better.

The main idea, is that history repeats itself: it works in cycles – mainly because humans are stupid and don't learn from their mistakes. The argument is that a lot of the events recently are building up to something big. Things like all the car plant closures, government scandals, Iraq/Afghanistan/Iran?, US/UK/French relations, Iran's Nuclear Regime etc etc. I have this feeling that it is all building up to something and can be compared to previous issues before other world wars. I am actually so interested, that I plan to do some research and write a bit of an essay on it at some point.

The problem was, I didn't want it all to happen in the next 15 days and then no one accept it when I said "I told you so."

So this is me covering my bases.

You've got to give it to him

Writing about web page,,1759827,00.html

He may well be pathologically insane; but you've got to give it to him, he doesn't give up!

Berlusconi said the incoming coalition of nine parties would be unable to govern, adding that he would arrive for work as normal at the prime minister's office when the new parliamentary session opened on Friday.

If only..

I've recently applied to lots of jobs; and upon showing one to Terry he said the following: –

terry says:
if this bit "The position is office based and all contact with both clients and candidates will be via the telephone." were changed to "The position is party based and all contact with both clients and candidates will be via expensive cocktail party with hot attractive beautiful women "
terry says:
terry says:
then it would be immense

I think that sums it up pretty well..

Early morning riser

I've been getting up early recently; if you call 7am early. The plan each day is get up at 7, start work by 8, work through til 10, quick break and then work on til 1. If you actually stick to it, it works quite well, and I am getting done each day everything I need to.

Except today I went down to Amersham Hospt. to have a blood test. It opened at 8.30, yet I was advised to get there an hour early as not only does it get busy, but they often open early. However open arrival at 7.30, not only was there already a big queue, but I had to wait the full hour until they opened, and then went through the people in front of me. Not to mention the nurses surly attitude and lack of ability to stop the after-bruising.

Now I've just got to wait a week, and then go discuss it with my Doctor. Fun times ahead! Although I have to admit, even though I'm just writing essays all the time its not that bad. Friends are coming round on wednesday eve, others back at the weekend, and a Wycombe home match to look forward to. I have also scheduled the whole weekend off; so I can hopefully get some good sleep in.

It seems the whole of the psychology 3rd year is panicking about getting all the essays and projects writen up in time to start revising. Roll on the 22nd May! How I am looking forward to that!

Smiling cause I'm scared as hell

I've these dreams of
Walking home
Home where it used to be
And everything is
As it was
Frozen in front of me

Here I stand
6 feet small
romanticizing years ago
but it's a bitter sweet feeling hearing
"Wrapped Around Your Finger" on the radio

and these days
I wish I was 6 again
Oh make me a red cape
I wanna be Superman

Oh, if only my life was more like 1983
all these things would be more like they
were at the start of me
had it made in 83

thinking bout my brother Ben
I miss him every day
He looks just like his brother John
But on an 18 month delay

Here I stand
6 feet small
and smiling cause I'm scared as hell
kind of like my life is like a sequel to a movie
where the actor's names have changed
oh well

well these days
I wish I was 6 again
Oh make me a red cape
I wanna be Superman

Oh, if only my life was more like 1983
all these things would be more like they
were at the start of me
If my life was more like 1983
plot a course to the source of the
purest little part of me

and most my memories
have escaped me
or confused themselves with dreams
if heaven's all we want it to be
send your prayers to me
care of 1983

you can paint that house a rainbow of colors
rip out the floorboards
replace the shutters but
that's my plastic in the dirt

whatever happened to my
whatever happened to my
whatever happened to my lunchbox
when came the day that it got
thrown away and don't you think I should have had some say
in that decision

If only my life
