Dave Channel
The Dave Channel is simply the best thing that has happened to the UK in the past 6 months. In the holidays I would wake up at 11am on a cold December morning and you start the day with healthy dose of a Top Gear episode. It has brought back the funniest show ever: Whose Line Is It Anyway? a show I have not seen since I was about 11 years old!
Since ITV killed off the World Rally Championship coverage (in every way), it seemed as if it would not return to terrestrial TV. But thanks to Dave's excellent advertising to create awareness and to bring in new fans, their well made WRC show looks to be a success in my view. Quite frankly, the layman terms and easiness of watching it will surely make more people interested in it. The Dave channel is simply awesome.

So they could come up such advertising lines as “Monte Carlo Rally: Now Landing On Dave”?

that is more effort than ITV had put into it!

It’s called Dave because it’s common and manly. I fucking love it.

I like the content, but the branding and idents still annoy me. They’re stealing BEN’s thunder.

Love the channel, hate the fact they seem to have hired an untrained monkey to work in operations and continuity. Honestly how many shows have they just cut to commercials in the middle of a sentence! Seems to be automated to just split the shows into equalish sections with no thought about how it looks/sounds. Maybe it only bothers me but then again it was my job to do this very thing at C4 for 8 weeks. Fools :P

Great stuff on the channel. I used to think it was going to be Channel five with less news (ie Tits at Nine), but it provides some decent shows when I’m cooking in the kitchen. Good stuff.

Agree – best new channel for years.
I’m sure you probably knew this, but you get 2 episodes of the US version of Whose Line on Five US at 1pm every day. I’m unsure which I like better, the UK or US version, but the more of each the better as far as I’m concerned. Tony Slattery is hilarious.

I like the US version save for Drew Carey, who appears too intent to be centre stage. Clive Anderson was better, staying behind the desk being insulted by Greg Proops.
