I feel i have to explain about the icons. Years ago I chastised a colleague for a similar situation on their desktop and now i am doing it myself, Why?

    • Adobe Acrobat often fails to print the last page from within my browser but if I print from Acrobat standalone it works. To do this I have to save the pdf and here do I save it … my desktop.
    • My download manager defaults to the desktop so that is where all the setup scripts and temporary apps reside.
    • I haven’t got round to either re-filing this stuff OR deleting the setups and apps I found weren’t really that useful.

I wondered what Steve and Gavin were on about – I didn’t recall seeing any small statues of Elvis or Shiva about your desk. Personally, I’m more bothered by a man who puts a map on his wall and then blu-tacks things over it. (Although I have to admit to seeing the benefit of obscuring France).
