It really isn't rocket science
Two rants:1)
- Gina McKee! Learn to speak English!
- C4, if you are going to make a serious programme about the end of the World (1983: The Brink Of Apocalypse January 5 2008, at 7.30pm.) then employ a narrator who can pronounce the word nuclear and not someone who says “nucular”.
- “New Clear”, its not difficult.
2)
Mathematics Dept. I thought you were brainy types. Why then, in seminar room MS.B3.03, is the data lecturn on the left side of the room and the data projector on the right side (a good 10m away)?
It really isn’t rocket science.

I very much doubt that anyone in the Maths Dept had any say in how MS.B3.03 was laid out. I happen to know that a list of complaints regarding the room was drawn up by Maths and handed to the relevant people subsequent to Maths moving in to the building and that some things were improved as a result. Like adding blinds on the windows above the blackboards so the audience does not have to have the sun in their eyes at a certain time of day.
My favourite feature is the buttons on the lectern. When the data projector is off the power button is lit up red. When the data projector is on the button is lit up red but possibly a bit brighter, it’s hard to tell. There are buttons for selecting different video sources. They all light up blue regardless of which source is selected.
