Breaking the habit
These are some paintings I did last week. I haven't done much abstract before, and I consciously tried to paint differantly to how I normally do. The colours came from thinking about driving long distances... and also just the general wacky, clashing, anything goes pallete that's around at the moment.
the 2nd two look like they’ve been invaded by worms made from the tape police use to cordon off a crime scene. Or maybe they just like like that to me… Warshack style. Hah, now i’m singing ‘Warshack’ to the tune of ‘love shack’. Ok stream of consciousness over.

I’m not going to complain if people want to sing ‘Loveshack.’ Infact, I’d probably sing louder, with more gusto and just generally make a scene. But that song doesn’t deserve anything less. Who could resist that funky lil shack? Funnky little shack!
I sort of nixed the abstraction concept a little by using something that could be recognised as police tape. Well. I wasn’t NOT thinking about police tape, if you catch my drift. But these little leitmotifs are just too hard to resist sometimes! Then again I did give the game away by explaining that I was thinking about driving, roads.
Thanks for your comments comrade :)
