Comments from the Manager

Bloody typical, you wait for a year and a half, and the first time we win I'm relegated to the dugout!!! I suppose at least I could concentrate on the tactical side of the game, which was responsible to the lead up to Mark's goal (although I suppose I should give him some credit for it).

Overall, it was a bloody fantastic game, and will stay in the fan's memories for a long time to come (and if it doesn't the DVD is out on Monday, with a 5 hour commentary by Hadris).

Friday's game is a very important game for the Stallions, looking to increase on their longest ever winning streak, by a whole 100%, and as usual the lads are up and raring to go. Stallion's veteran striker Stephen Pond, or Steeeeeeeeeeeeeeve as can heard from the crowd, has been on top form lately, and I expect great things from him for the rest of the season. Obvoiusly there has been a fair amount of interest, but as I said in the local papers, he's an indispensible player, and you can't put a price on that. Although I would be tempted if the offer is right…

In other news, I have been in negotiation talks with Christopher over a new contract. If all goes well, he should sign a new deal that will keep him at the Stallions until June 2005.

Good luck to everyone tomorrow

Come on you Stallions!

Sturdy Stallions prepare for Showdown

Hello, and welcome to this weeks manager's comments section. I write this without knowing the result of the match on friday, suffice to say that we worked really hard and were very unlucky to be edged out of a closely fought match (official stallion response when we lose count of the score). However, some of our squad has just returned from very profitable international friendlies.

Our very own Stephen Pond participated in Andorra's friendly against Uzbekistan (he was offered a passport whilst on the stallion's high altitude training last easter), and produced a very solid performance, with two classy goals to boot, which kept Andorra in the match but unfortunately wasn't enoughfor them to win, Uzbekistan edging out the winners 5–2.

Owen Bellamy came on in the second half for Hawaii and set up the only goal of the match with a wonderful "hoof" from his own penalty area, which earned him man of the match.

Nathaniel Christopher was an unused substitute for the Isle of Wight under 21's match against Isle of Man.

Well done to all our international players, and to the rest of the squad who have been working hard in preparation for the match tomorrow. With several injuries to key players, it won't be an easy match, but I am confident that we can give it 110%, and who could ask for more than that?

Come on you Stallions!

Comments from the Manager

I write this report not knowing the result of the match in week 8 (because we haven't been challenged yet, duh!) but the previous game is still fresh in my mind.

Amidst vicious rumours, spread no doubt by our opposition, on the stallion's personal relationships, the team dug deep and performed well. There were some inspiring and gutsy performances, particularly from Dave "what do you mean I don't get gloves?!" Pickles in goal and the tireless Owen "look at me I'm playing 3 different positions at once" Bellamy. Combine that with the stunning 30 yard mazy run and shot from Mr Nayfe, and yet another goal from Stez, there were definately positives to take away from the game.

As always I'm disapointed not to come away with any points, but I guess we just need to work on scoring more than the opposition, and that's something we'll concentrate on in training this week.

As a side point, due to past achievements, the mighty Stallions have received a "buy" in to the second round of the cup competition, so reserve your tickets for the match online, or visit our club shops, situated in Ashby de la Zouch, and Uxbridge Town. Hurry, tickets will sell fast!

Until next week

Come on you Stallions!

Message from the Manager

Hello, and Welcome to the wonderful world of the Tardan Stallions. A big thank you goes to Nayfe for starting this thing up. I bloody love it!

From time to time I will impart my managerial wisdom on the world for everyone to oggle at in amazement. Firstly, I think we've made a very strong start to the season, some good performances, and its nice to see the new signings fitting in well. It's always important to have a good team spirit and mentality, and the lads are working well together.

Secondly, I know everyone was bitterly disappointed to hear about my injury, but don't worry, I'm on the mend (my god it hurts so much!), and a big thank you to Holly for filling in for me.

Lastly, plans are afoot for some Stallion merchandise. I think a calender for 2005 would be a great idea, or possibly beer mats. let me know what you think!

Hope to see you all lending your support at the next match, it's important that you, the fans, get behind us as we slug it out on the pitch.

See you all soon

Dan (The Guv'ner)
