I went on a tandem with some friends in montreal. They were fun.. once you got going! Starting was hard, I can imagine this was even harder!!

What's the turning like? Looks like a mechanical nightmare only quite fun. A joymare, if you will. I've probably said it before but this blog truly does rule. No bullshit, just awesome pics.

When my mum broke her leg on holiday in spain my dad hired a tandem to transport her around! Lol this photo just reminded me of how many laughs we had with that tandem.

The starting did require a bit of co-ordination, as did the gear shifts and braking! Turning was fairly normal except you had to follow a "car-like" path because there is a lot of back end that follows!
Like Gemma said, the best thing is the immense fun we all had on it! =)

That looks awesom, I'd love to have a go on a tandem or anything like that. The biggest I saw was a Quindem (five people) made by Halfords on the London-to-Southend BHF bike ride (2003 i think) and it bassicly was 5 bikes welded together on top of a 5m long 5cm thick girder with motor bike wheels. They had to take corners like a truck and watching it go over speed bumps was scary as you'd see the 5m frame flex in the middle! That was legendary. They had a radio in their trailer aswell.
