I've just noticed that most of the images in your blog were taken not recently, but at various stages over the last few years. I therefore wonder how you select which photo from your archive will be the next to be uploaded to the blog. Logical or spontaneous? I wonder.

Bizzarely, as soon as I saw this pic, it instantly reminded me of my trip to Scotland last year, even before I had read the "Location" caption and hence before I knew which of the billions of pebbles around the world was being depicted. Can't understand why.

  3. Hey Amit,
The primary aim of this blog is to force me to take photographs of the stuff around me, and that can give me a few photographs a week, but I often need to delve into the archives and pull out a decent shot taken a while ago. I usually have a few shots in reserve in case I don't come up with any dazzling photography that week, and so I pick from them. The logic is to vary macros/landscapes/buildings etc. but the spontaneous choosing of which photos I like at the time is highly influenced by my mood. Yesterday I was a bit down, so a dark photo was called for. Today I'm doing well and liked the sunlight orangey hues of these Scottish pebbles, so they got chosen.

It could be coincidence that you thought of Scotland, but I think your eyes "take in" all the information on the screen, and your brain just tells you what to pay attention to. So you might have subconsiously known it said Scotland on the page. That'd be my logical physicist explaination, anyhoo.

  6. I love water shots, this one has nice flow. Can't wait to get some ND filters to really see what I can do with a stream and a long exposure. Oh er!
