Car Motion
Camera: Fuji FinePix S602z
Filter: Circular Polariser & Neutral Density x4
Date: 19th March 2006
Location: By Hurst
Shutter: 1/6s
Aperture: F/11
Comments: Even though it was quite light I was hoping the filters would cut the brightness down enough to get a good blur of the cars. It hasn't worked quite as I'd envisioned, and the contrast was reduced also.
Post-processing: This is actually three quick-fire photos 'overlayed' in Paintshop Pro, then cropped

[Skip to the latest comment]Isn't that just Siggy with a 1/1000s shutter speed ;-)?

It's interesting that the wheel isn't a smooth blur – I guess the rotation means that individual spokes catch the light at specific angles.
Have you tried tracking shots? It's harder to do, but looks very impressive when you get it right.

I did try tracking shots;

…
But like you said – they are hard to do! I'm going to give it another go when it's slightly warmer!

Tried stiching 3 faster photos? that might be cool. The annoying thing about taking pictures on the side of the road is you don't know whether the next car coming past is gonna be a looker or not. And when an Aston does come past, you're not pointing the right way!
