EFQM framework for KM

EFQMI was lucky enough to find a true gem; the EFQM framework for knowledge management, its an EFQM guidebook, of less than 50 pages, relating KM to the EFQM framework. This is what I learnt form it.

First of all, the starting point for any company in its KM excellent is to define exactly where the company stands now, this makes perfect sense, since the suggested framework is based on self-assessment.

KM is not an end, but rather a means to an end, this intuitive statements leads to an important question; what is the “end”? it is better performance and improved results. In EFQM terminology, good KM supports both enablers and results.

KM is most effective when it is approached holistically, integrating leadership, HR and processes. This is the justification for incorporating KM with the whole EFQM framework.

Finally, I think the book is worth owning and definitely worth reading. It could be found in the library: http://webcat.warwick.ac.uk/record=b2525740~S1
