Call For Submissions: Additive Combinatorics Songs About Domestic Violence

Here are two fun songs I have been listening to recently.

Fight Like Apes – Lend Me Your Face

Florence and the Machine – Kiss With a Fist

They are both about girlfriends beating up boyfriends. GIRL-POWER and such!

Neither video had I seen before finding the links to support this entry and I feel they are both disappointing, though one is very Mike Figgis and the other is very, er, arousing in the Alexander Skarsgard way.

Oh fuck off you so WOULD

But what other songs are about domestic violence?

Obviously we have pretty much one in every three of EMINEM’s (he does love to rap about doing nasty things to Kim doesn’t he) but how about Rock, particularly Indie Rock?

CHALLENGE.

SET.

GO!

Click here and post your favourite songs about domestic violence.

Oh man Im taking it to the NEXT LEVEL

Friska Viljor – On and On: LYRICS

The usual places didn’t help me on this so I did it myself.

Here’s the song:

Viljor beard LOL

And here are the lyrics, as transposed by J Miles Esq:

“On and on
and on
and on,

we’ve been doing this
too long.

It’s time to find
another way;

it doesn’t matter
what you say.

plink plunk

On and on
and on
and on,

I wish that this
would soon be gone.

Another Sunday
comes along;

I have to find out
what is wrong!

females:
You would feel much better
if you left this life alone,
I know you’ve
got up and hung the phone up.
Don’t do this to yourself.

Don’t be scared to take a step into the dark unknown.
Are you ready to grow up?
Let’s get ready to grow u-up!
end of females.

You’re
on your own
for a while.

You’ll decide,
for yourself,

what you want
- no-one else -

you’ll be free
to live again.

plink plunk interlude

On and on
and on and on.

The time for brand new things
has come.

It doesn’t matter
what you say,

I’m gonna leave you
anyway.

females:
You will feel much better
now that everything is gone,

you’re-gonna,

feel free to be yourself and
you’ll be much happier.

Don’t be scared of loneliness
it’s what you have embraced.

When you liked it with someone,
when you’ve spent your time alo-one.
end of females.

You’re
on your own

for a while.
You’ll decide,

for yourself,
what
you want

- no
-one else -

you’ll be free
to live again.

~ You’re not alone
We’ll be here.

Solid stones,
by your side.

Put your feet
on our backs,

where you know
we’ll carry you ~ carry you.

plink plunk

We will
carry you.

plink plunk

Carry
you.

plink plunk

We will
carry you.”
