Oh No You Didn't by EA Choir

Hey yo hey yo listen to this.

Download

I love it (except the very end which is an awful way to finish a song), but it confuses me.

My first take was that it’s a bonus joke track for the credits to some Electronic Arts GTA rip-off (I’d guess there are a lot to choose from). EA choir – Electronic Arts choir? I mean, this kind of thing seems to be creeping into gaming more and more, right?

Yall cant be playin checkers on no Chessboard, yo

But no.

I googled and it seems not to have anything to do with Electronic Arts. The origin of the name EA choir isn’t clear at all. Apparently no myspace, no other websites, just a list of listeners on Last.fm, who almost certainly got it from the same place I did (the September Indie Rock Playlist).

So, what can anyone tell me about the song or EA choir? Have I been fooled and in fact my original theory was spot on the whole time?

IT IS A MYSTERY.

Actually I think you’ll find that an explosion (after a gong) is the best way to finish a song.

  4. What?! In that song it’s even worse since the song has finished perfectly well already when the explosion comes! Did you add that explosion yourself or something? To my ears it’s laughably out of place!

I’m with Howes on this one, explosions are the best way to finish a song. Ooh, and planes flying overhead! And, preferably, screaming.

I did add the explosion, along with the rest of the song since I co-wrote that little bundle of weirdness. “Laughably out of place” pretty much sums up the intention, so good :)
