Manic Monday

I am, of course, being ironic. Now my term is over this is actually the first Monday for a while that hasn’t been manic. Great track though.

It’s from the above album, which is a mash up project and which there’s no point in me telling you about, when wikipedia does such a good job. Alternatively, just enjoy the track.

I wish you a merry Monday.

    Wikipedia says

Dean Gray took an altruistic approach and asked for fans who enjoyed the album to donate to charities that Green Day have been known to support

... and helpfully links to a couple of places where you can download the album. But they fail to mention what those charities are, and since the original download site has been removed by the man, if you’re feeling full of altruistic christmas cheer, there’s no (easy) way to find out who ought to get your money. Bah. Anyone have pointers to the original list of worthy recipients?

  2. I’m afraid I don’t know what the original list was but wikipedia also says:

Charity projects that the band have been involved with include the collaboration with U2 (“The Saints Are Coming”) to help raise money for musical instruments lost in Hurricane Katrina, and teaming with the Natural Resources Defense Council for the “Move America Beyond Oil” campaign and other environmental concerns.Green Day has also foamed a partnership with the NRDC, an American environmental organization that is heavily promoted on the band’s website.[citation needed] They have made YouTube videos voicing support for protection of the environment and ‘ending America’s addiction to oil’.

I found this one and Ashanti Letterbomb the tracks which lodged in my mind after a few listens. Ashanti Letterbomb grew on me a bit more after finding the original Ashanti track on YouTube and discovering how much I disliked it. :)

Have you listened to 24 Hours by The Kleptones ? It’s a marvellous mash up of all sorts of stuff.
