Follow-up to P7 Self–Organisation and Time Management from Just me...mEi LiNG's blog * :)

Frankly, my self organison and time management improved a lot. I was able to make proper plans and schedules to time my works. Having a proper timetable is a tool that really pushes me in following all the plannings and deadlines. Although it was hard for me in the beginning, it's worth it.

Now, I am a better person in organising myself and planning properly for my future. I really that improper planned lifestyle would not produce any effective and productive outcomes, especially in the academic field. Nowadays, I reduced my time for self-entertainment, especially facebook-ing because I knew that too much self entertainment would affect my study. My priority in my list is my academic, followed by maintenance in relatonship with others, and only self-entertainment afterwards.

Having a balance life schedule is crucial. It is not advisable to be lack in any of these major aspects.

Follow-up to Skills development from Just me...mEi LiNG's blog * :)

The development of every skill indeed took time; months after months. My skills are progressing greatly, in which I manage to achieve some of my goals; Emotional Intelligence, Effective Learning and Revision skills; Being assertive, Critical Thinking and Time Management.

For Emotional Intelligence, I was able to control my emotions and I would not myself to be too emotional attached to a certain thing. I knew that being too emotional could really affect my lifestyle and this could trigger for the negative outcomes. Soemtimes, I would voice out what I feel and think, sometimes I don't really show out my real feelings, depend on the situation itself.

As for Effective Learning and Revision Skills, they really improved a lot. It helped a lot towards my academic study and enhaced my memory as well. The skills that I had learnt in this workshop really ease my learning. I realized that rote learning is not a good way in revising all the subjects.

Being Assertive; this was the workshop that I loved a lot. It increased my confidence in speaking and pointing out my ideas as well. When other people repected my decisions, I felt very happy and satisfied. At  least, I had my own original way and not just following what other people doing.

As for Time Management, I would say that proper planning and schedules are VERY ESSENTIAL in our lives. For example, I planned my time for my exam, setting up a certain of period for revising each of my subject. As a result, it worked! I was truly satisfied when all my hard work worked out and my result is satisfactory!

Lastly, the only skill that I needed to develop is my critical thinking. I really need to read a lot starting on now onwards so that I would get how the ideas actually worked out.

Follow-up to Improved? from Just me...mEi LiNG's blog * :)

Critical Thinking. I realized that thinking out of the box is crucial in order to increase my critical thinking. Evaluation on just the surface is not enough to help me to compete with others. However, to be frankly, I still need a lot of improvement spaces to attain this goal. I was still not good enough in making a deep and critical judgement, especially in my academic stuffs. I was truly envied with my some of my friends, in which they are able to produce good ideas and opinions in our study.

I admitted that I was weak in this field, and the main reason which contributed towards this was my little knowledge. I found out that knowledge was essential in boosting our critical thinking. If I read a lot and had plenty of worldwide knowledge, I think I should be able to reflect more on certain issues. Knowledge is important in every aspect. I should really throw away my laziness and start reading a lot ( even though it's not my hobby). This is my main aim now in improving my critical thinking.

Follow-up to Changed? from Just me...mEi LiNG's blog * :)

Being assertive; this is my aim goal. I worked hard into it, and I got it. Nowadays, I would put forward my agreement or disagreement whenever it happens. I would not rather just listen and taking in other people's opinions or decisions, but making my own judgment and decision in opposite. This skill had indeed improved my confidence in speaking and eliminated my inferiority towards other people gradually.

I always had the slogan 'falling tail' in my mind whenever I tried to speak to people. It was very useful and effective. Instead of raising my intonation at the ened of my words, I would rather end my sentence in a calm and cool manner. As a result, the people are really listening to your words. However, sometimes I did doubt that whether my friends could be angered by the way that I was speaking to them. I was quite 'aggresive' sometimes in making my decisons.

As for appearance and personality, I tried to maintain a cool and 'smart' personality. I know that the chance of accepted by other people would increase if a person is acting smartly and confidently.

Follow-up to Follow the plan! from Just me...mEi LiNG's blog * :)

I was really grateful that I joined this workshop. Following my plan, even though it's not 100%, it did help me to improve my academic planning and management. For right now, I am about to continue using this effective learning and revision skills in moving into my second academic year which is very important.

I realized my mistakes in studying smarty, and not just rote learning. Skimming, scanning and making notes are indeed three critical skills that every student should apply in his or her own study. I figured out that writting down important short notes improved greatly my memory in remembering the facts and main points. Colours even make them more effective.

As a result, I would choose to jote down the points down onto papers, making mind-maps and doing a short summary (if possible) in my study. To prove this, the result for my first year academic year is satisfactory!!! I am satisfied with my own result, even though this skill would require more effort and time.
