Can proteins be made in vivo without ribosomes?

    depends what you call a protein. If it is a series of aminoacids linked together….this indeed can be done by living polymerization (Tim Demming's work)...pretty cool stuff. If you want the monomer sequence to be determined via gene coding…oh well…and what do you define as in vivo….too many questions…
