This Is So Lame!

Writing about web page http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/7267567.stm

Earthquake... back in the UK*I DON’T UNDERSTAND how this went wrong. It had all the ingredients. It came early in the night, when everyone was at home and about to go to sleep. An epicentre of 5.2 on the scale of Rigter. And I was there, awake and well. It was the first real earthquake I was ever in, but I didn’t even notice it!

Now there’s no lack of juicy details. BBC news writes of damage claims going into tens of millions. Chimneys fell down. One guy got injured. The earthquake was the biggest in nearly 25 years, and a “rare beast” for the UK. (That just leaves me wondering: rare beast? for the time of year? for its magnitude?)

To go short: I’m a bit annoyed. Something that happens only once in 25 years and for the first time in my life, yet it didn’t even distract me from the essay I was writing, ” just before 01:00 GMT”.
