SMS, Please, Someone Help Me

A while ago, while at home, I received the following message in a language quite foreign to me.

Canim hastayim su 2gundur bloeddruk [this last word meaning blood pressure in Dutch] cok dustu. Dun basri söyledi. Ftr falan almaya geimissin ftr cok guzel cikmis dedi. Canim bende cok özledim seni öpt seni kocam.

This one word, “bloeddruk”, gave me the most exciting thoughts of what it might mean. Someone about to die in a hospital? Someone who just went for a simple medical check-up and wanted to inform relatives living in the Netherlands? Or was it frustration at the office that made his blood boil and his pressure rise?

I still do not know. I kept the text message until this day but now I cannot wait anymore and need to find out! I checked the country code, it unsurprisingly came from Turkey. So, who speaks Tukish?

  1. Why don't you just stick it in an online translator?

  2. i tried…but I scared me.

    Me: canim
Translation machine: did you mean one of the following: cani, cami…etc.
Me: I suppose I meant cani then.
TM: cani = 1. cutthroat. murderer. butcher. malefactor. bravo. felon. homicide. villain.

Brrr… the first word I ever learn in Turkish is malignant!

  4. Wicked Leanne… this means the message is a bit sweeter than I expected… We´re on our way to decyphering this mistery! Btw where did you learn to read/speak? Turkish? Your name does not sound so very Turkish?

Wat Leanne vertaald heeft lijkt nergens op. Zij heeft de woorden totaal uit verband getrokken. het betreft hier een gewoon sms’je naar wschl het verkeerde adres. Niets spannends aan:

Liefje, de laatste 2 dagen ben ik erg ziek geweest. Mijn bloeddruk is enorm gezakt.

Dat heeft Basri mij gisteren gezegd. Ik heb gehoord dat je nog de ftr (is een sms afkorting voor iets dat zij beide wschl wel begrijpen) bent gaan halen. Ze zeggen dat die erg mooi is geworden.
er kan hier ook staan: Basri heeft gisteren gezegd dat je nog ftr ben gaan halen en dat die erg mooi is geworden. (Er staat namelijk een onverklaarbare punt in de tekst)

Liefje ik mis jou ook erg. Kusjes!

Vrije vertaling want het blijft natuurlijk sms taal
