Writing about web page http://www.myspace.com/theripps
It´s been a while since I clicked my way through the Myspace community but it never disappoints. I don´t remember who, but someone mentioned very righty that the Kazaa generation has died a quiet death, and that Myspace is the new hip.
Anyway, the Coventry scene seems as I alive and kicking as it was when I left England before the summer. I encountered this band, the Ripps, and although I´m not sure if I saw them before, I really enjoy the “England feel” in the songs they´ve got up now. Go visit their website and have a listen what you think!
Finally, finally! My Spanish course has been rounded off with a number of exams earlier this week, I have made a firm choice of my courses. I´ll start studying Catalán in a week and a half.
I´m happy. It´s just such a cleared up feeling to have everything that I need for the coming term established. As an Erasmus student you tend to feel rather dangling in between everything and nothing anyway. Now I have a timetable that works, teachers that I can understand relatively well considering the little time I´ve spent here, and a place on another language course which will only enhance my comprehension of that brabbly language, Catalán.
Although today was a foggy and rainy day, I feel like a bunch of little burdens are off my chest. Not like I worried much, just stuff that kept me thinking all the time. I´m off on Friday, to London and beyond (as you will read here later), and at least I´m leaving a “clean desk” behind.
As I walked down to campus today, I saw a guy with protection around his neck who looked a bit like Joey from Friends (excuse my somewhat backward frame of reference). And I met my “tandem” friend, my Spanish-speaking buddy, who seemed really nice. And tonight… there´s a barbeque and fiesta at a friend´s place. Partying late, no worries, cause tomorrow is a national holiday, again.
[Sigh.] I love this country.
