Stem Cell Research

and

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/4563607.stm

This seems fairly big but was not in the news bbc 1 at 6 or itv at 6:30

Also the programmes had different leading stories.

Why?

In a few years time we will be able to grow spare arms so that we can learn to juggle with chainsaws all at the expense of a few embryo's.

  1. Yup, it's a big story – but it didn't break until 7pm. Hence no coverage…though I am surprised at why that is: normally, this sort of thing is announced at a press conf or with a release, usually in the morning to give it as much coverage as possible.

You'll notice it leads on BBC Online right now, and I'll bet it leads on the 10.

Perhaps Newcastle Uni didn't release it early for fear of angy reprisals? Touchy subject n all.
